Do Not Disturb

It was a delightful day of self indulgence. I had my hair cut and roots touched up, along with hair ripped from my body with hot wax. Ya. Gotta love being a middle-aged woman.

I came home with the intent to REALLY indulge myself by taking a luxurious nap. I could almost feel the cool, soft duvet as I climbed the stairs to my bedroom. I turned the corner and walked into my bedroom and found .....

Heaven forbid we disturb the cats!!!

Speaking of beds....I received a VERY cute picture of LuLu this afternoon from her foster Mom:

Doesn't she look happy and content? She obviously found the best spot in the whole house immediately!

I often think about why we don't disturb our pets when they're sleeping where we want to sit or lay down. I've been known to slide into bed at night holding my breath so as not to disturb a sleeping cat. One night I accidently kicked a cat off the bed when I rolled over. I spent the next 20 minutes chasing her around the house to apologize.

Much to my horror, I watched David gently move one of the cats off a chair that he wanted to sit in. It was the last time he ever did that. :)

There have been times I've considered peeing my pants rather than disturbing a cat asleep on my lap. I must not be alone, because there was a youtube video made about just such a thing!

I never did get a nap today. Both sofas had a cat on them, and anybody who knows my gross sons would NEVER take a nap on their beds. But that's ok. At least *somebody* had a nice nap today. :) Add Image

Beth! That picture of your bed is hysterical - too cute! And how wonderful to see Lulu looking so comfy. What a sweetheart.

I know exactly what you mean Beth, there are times I have awkwardly clambered out of bed over the foot of the bed rather than disturb my cats sleeping beside me :)

Guess what! My new foster mom Molly that I picked up from the shelter just had 5 kittens! It was so exciting, I walked in after she'd had two and got to see the last 3 born!

I would have gently squished in the middle of them all and enjoyed their company zzzz'ing. :)

Oh what a great picture! I found go in my bedroom and see the same thing. One of our cats always claims the very bottom corner but as soon as we crawl in and move our feet around, both of them go nuts. :)

SOOOOO happy to see Lulu looking so content. She must feel so good now that's she's in a real home with real loving people. So precious....

ha ha Beth, what is it with us cat parents and not disturbing them, just goes to show they are in control!lol Every night Emily my foster waits until 5 minutes before me turning off the tv and lays down in my lap so I'm stuck there wanting to encourage her closeness but at the same time I am being delayed from bed and worrying how tough it will be to get up the next morning. She has also peed on my bed 3 times now so she is again banished from the bedroom and sits outside the closed door during the day, talking and moaning about needing to get in there and get her nap. PS Glad Lulu is comfy.
