Rescuing Little Q-Tip

You can imagine my surprise and excitement to receive a voicemail last night from one of our younger foster Moms. She said her Mom would LOVE to foster Q-Tip and could I rescue her?

"COULD I RESCUE HER??? YESSS!" I think I must've jumped out of my chair with the news.

I rescued four cats today, but I couldn't resist taking a video of little Q-Tip's big day. While you're watching the video, please don't forget that this little cat lost her kittens, lost her home - lost everything...

When I see a video like this, I'm overwhelmed with a sense of joy and pride for what we do.

I hope the good people that make it possible for me to rescue cats from this shelter feel the joy in this moment.

Wonderful news. I don't know if the new foster parent reads your blog but I think Q-Tip looks like she should be called Clover.

Yay for Q-tip! Love your videos Beth and wow am I happy that Q-tip made it out cause she seems like a real sweetheart! The orange guy is cute too and I hope the big tabby next door makes it out eventually too.

Aw. Made me cry with happiness. I know we can't rescue everyone, but it is so nice to see the faces of the ones that we *can*.

Hooray for Q-tip!!! I was hoping you'd post good news today.

What about calling her Suzy-Q instead of Q-tip?

You could see her relief and her realisation that she didn't have to be sad anymore!

I can always see that in the dogs I transport each weekend -

THAT feeling is what keeps me going -

Knowing we saved ONE more!

Bravo to all of you 'up there' from 'down here'

Wow emotional. This video just made me cry and cry and cry...Q tip is adorable; I am so excited that she gets a second chance at love:)
What a wonderful day. Thank you Beth and all of the amazing foster families that have opened thier hearts and homes to these abandoned cats.

I cried. I cried because look at these cats. They connect with a person and their tails go up instantly and they get HAPPY. They are so much better creatures than most humans. They instantly welcome love and instantly want to be a part of it. There's no agenda, just a lesson that this is what life is about. I sound like a hippy, but at the most basic core, that is life. Happiness and love.

Beth, I actually cried at the kitty's reaction. So sad she lost her kitties. She also seems to be shedding hair lots. Best wishes for this little kitty.

We are so glad Q-Tip got a foster home.

Countess: Yes, she's shedding lots. Some of it is from the warm weather, some of it is from stress, and the rest is just depression and not caring about grooming herself :(

Q-tip is loving her new foster home, she is SO much perkier than when I first met her at the shelter... I think that Clover is a good name, we are waiting to see what her personality shows through :)

She is shedding, and she is very thin, but we are going to fatten her up and brush her til the cows come home. She is already so much happier, thanks so much Beth for posting the video, my mom loved it! She is so excited to be a foster mom.

Watching this has left me bawling, happy for Q-Tip, but heart-achingly sad for those still waiting. I've not fostered, but one of my co-workers does, and of course all my beloved fur companions are adoptees.

Fingers and paws crossed for her--and for everyone else.

P.S. Clover is a lovely name, if that's the name she chooses for herself. :-)
