Happy Days Are Here Again!

I must've looked at the clock twenty times today waiting for it to be time to go to the shelter. The call came in yesterday: "I'll take the Tortie Mom and her kittens!

Many hugs to Debbie who reunited this little family and saved their lives. I'm new with uploading movies, but wanted to document their rescue - this was the first time the Mom had seen her two orange kittens in about a week:

It was wonderful to see this little family together again. I took my finger off the "record" button too early....she gave that little orange guy quite the wash!

Also rescued today:

I remember when this sweet little Mom came into the shelter. She was wearing a pink collar and a bell. She sat up in her cage looking so expectant that her family would be there any moment to pick her up. Heartbreaking!

Also rescued was little Gumbi and his new best friend "Jake":

I had to laugh because Jake and Gumbi had never met each other, but acted like they were best friends when I put them in the same carrier. Kittens!

Little Shiaz was also rescued today: It's a terrible picture of a beautiful little girl. She came into the shelter spayed and declawed. I can't imagine why anyone would want to part with this sweet fluffy girl.

As I type this post, another foster Mom is on her way out to the shelter to rescue "somebody". I'm not sure who she'll take yet. :) Also, a preapproved adopter is going to arrive this evening to take home "Andrew" another sweet tabby/BengalX guy.

I was very teary eyed as I packed up the Tortie Mom and her kittens for rescue. The video only showed part of this rescue. (One of these days I'll get proficient at taking videos to really show a rescue!) I received so many emails of support to rescue this little family. Even when people can't physically help the cats, it's really reassuring to receive these kind of emails. It's what keeps me going.

That little Tortie Mom didn't know how many people were pulling for her. But I did. Thank you all for caring the way you have.

YAY!! What a happy, very special Friday. I think I watched that video about 5x already. The mom was so sweet grooming her little one...she just looked like she was in her glory. I know there was a lot of people who were hoping that family would get rescued. Great job Beth!!
Ps. Is the second orange kitten in there as well? Couldn't tell in the video...I'm sure it is but just wanted to double check.

What a wonderful post. We've all been hoping for a happy ending here and now this little family has a chance at a safe lives in loving homes!

I'm glad little Jake got out too, I had been eyeballing him on the website because he reminded me so much of my sweet Max who I still miss.

Have a happy weekend Beth, because of you I know those kittens will.

Regards, Catrina

The mom is loving it here and is a great mom, the 4 kittens r having fun jumping around chasing each other and upseting the mom by not letting her sleep for 5min lol. I have named the mom Karma, the grey 1 with a white ring around its tail Ringo Star, the black 1 im the only 1 who likes Ace, so we need a name 4 the black 1 and the 2 orange 1's. The black 1 is a girl and the oranges 1's are 1 boy and 1 girl and i wanna know wat u guys think of the other 2 names. All 5 cats r like my black cat Lucky- NO FEAR!!!!

Sutherland: Thank you so much for the update!!! I've been thinking about this little family all afternoon.

Karma is a great name for the Mom!

I hate to admit that I really like the name "Ace" for the black one!

I think since you have a musician name for the grey one, what if you kept that theme? "Tom Petty", "Pat Benatar" and "Sammy Haggar"....am I dating myself too much?? Hahaha :)

They are so cute!!! I love the little orange guy, his face is priceless. Great job with the Tortie, I just knew it when everyone started talking about them they would not get left behind.

And Gumbi! Gumbi you look like a Gumbi a yummy, yummy, Gumbi - so adorable. Kittens make me crazy they are so cute. Of course, I don't want to live with them....I already have enough crazy in my house.

Great job Beth (as usual!)

OMG so cute! I LOVE the video Beth! It is much more real than the pics although they are nice too! Like another commenter I couldn't see the other orange baby but I'll take your word that he/she is there. I think one of the girls should be called "Hope" and the other "Faith" because we all had hope and faith that they would be rescued! Thanks for a great start to the weekend! Thanks also to the other foster Mom who took the other Mom and her 2 babies!

PS My "Emily Grace" finally went to her adoptive home yesterday with a lovely lady named Genevieve.

Update on Karma and the 4 kittens.
We have decided to name the female orange kitten Angel cuz she looks like an angel and is the cutest of the 4. She is very curious and feisty! Her brother the other orange 1, we r still undecided[thinking Rocky(but thats more of a dogs names) or Bandit cuz he has a white stripe across he eyes]Rocky goes with him cuz he is the heavyweight champion. He eats the most, sleeps the most, and fights the most and always wins lol. He loves to play and beat up his sister Angel and the 2 should really find a home together. Rocky reminds me most of my 15 pound cat Tiger eat, sleep, win fights lol. Ace is the little runt of the group but fearless. She eats like a champ and loves to join in the fights with Angel and Rocky. She reminds me most of my cat Lucky, very bold and loves hieghts. Ace was the first 1 to find a way up on the bed and the rest have now followed her. Ringo Star could sleep threw anything, he is a deep sleeper, the first 1 up, and my fav! lol

Sutherland

P.S. we have some videos and pics 4 u of them, but dont know ur email or how to send em 2 u. So if u could help us there we can send u them. they r already downloaded on r computer. TY Beth 4 find us the PERFECT cats!!!!
