A Day of "Cute"

It was a day of 100% cuteness!  If you haven't had a day like that lately, I encourage you to be in awe of the cuteness that I was able to partake in today.

First, I picked up 3 kittens that were rescued from a nearby barn.  I was to drive them into the city to their new foster home.  Kittens are kittens...they're ALL cute, right?  Oh man...but these guys DEFINE cute:

I suppose when I put them on the website they'll be snapped up in a hurry.  I wish they could all be so fortunate.

A few moments before I sat down to write in my blog, I noticed our 14 year old dog Maggie seemed extra interested in going outside.  The cats were frozen in place by the windows and I looked...and...looked...
I didn't see anything at first until I squinted and saw out by my storage shed....

What a cute little dude!  I have no idea what that is, but he's bigger than a rabbit and looks like a beaver!  I've never seen one and I just stood there for a long time watching him.  After he mosied around the back of the storage shed, I walked carefully out there to find *nothing*!  But I did see a big ol' hole going UNDER the shed.  I wonder if there's baby *somethingies* out there.  Whatever he is, he's very cute.

I really love nature and find a big thrill in even the smallest of things.  Sometimes when David and I go on our evening walks we stop and stare at the squirrels.  It's fun to make up little stories about them....Is that one going home?  Demanding her "kids get home on the double"?  Ahhh...it's silly, but it's fun.

I should probably be living in a dense forest someplace and enjoying the deer, bunnies, and squirrels.

But then again...I'd probably get NOTHING done all day :)

That's a fat freakin' groundhog, is what that is. He's cute. I bet he waddles when he runs. :-)

Not 100% certain, but I do believe you've got yourself a groundhog living under your storage shed :-)

Definitely a groundhog!!! Our house out of the city is on a Conservation area, on the weekend we saw 2 deer, a blue heron and a number of foxes! Love nature.

That would be a groundhog. Mange Flea carrier as well. And they can be aggressive if defending their babies. We had one that wouldn't let us use the clothes line. And they'll eat your plants/veggies, and they can attract coyotes. (can you tell I've had some run ins with these critters over the years!)

Yup. Groundhog. We have them in our yard every year. They eat my petunias.

I hope you had the decency to ensure the mum cat of those kittens is rescued or spayed.....seeing as you were so quick to convict OSPCA of taking kittens and leaving the mum cats behind.

Whoa... that's one freakin' big groundhog! This one went to the gym and knackered the rowing machine, I bet!

And anonymous...wow...How about asking Beth what happened to the mom cat *before* pointing the finger eh? Your comment says more about you than it does about Beth...

I'm pretty sure I know Beth well enough to say that she wouldn't have taken the kittens without the mom if there wasn't a good reason. (i.e Mom hadn't made an appearance for days, mom rejected them, mom was killed etc etc)

Hey Anonymous AKA Grump,

Stop making stupid comments no one wants to hear? Or how about you just stop reading the blog all together?
Maybe you have your own blog you would like to share with us? Then we can all write mean spirited comments on it. Sound good to you?

Stop being a hater! Beth is doing something good. What exactly is it you are doing?

Nothing like nature to cheer you up!
I visit a blog every week by a guy named Robin who does the most amazing photos of nature - it is my mental health break.

Enjoy!

I agree a ground hog. We had one move in under our storage shed and it ended up burrowing under the cat room we have outside and had so many tunnels it was getting out of control. I had a feral mom at the time and I took some of her poop and put them on each of the entrance hole and she decided to go live somewhere else.

(and I'm purposely not feeding the trolls)

I learned something new! I was going to say "Gee, that thar is a Woodchuck!" but I looked online and a Woodchuck is another name for a Groundhog! Go figure!
I'm still going to say "Woodchuck" ;)

Josie: That's so funny, because I thought "Woodchuck" too! I wonder if it's where we're from? LOL
